Calculator for Buildings Other Than Dwellings (Part L2 and Scottish Technical Standards Part J.)
This program checks compliance with the requirements of Part L2 of the Building Regulations 2002 edition and Scottish Technical Standards Part J
for BUILDINGS OTHER THAN DWELLINGS by using either the Elemental Method or the Whole-building method, Heat loss Method
including the Carbon Performance Rating for Offices
- Incorporates Dewpoint U-value calculator for walls, roofs, floors and windows.
- Checks percentage of windows, doors and rooflights against the area
- Checks thermal perfomance of each element against standard U-values.
- Checks to see that the calculated rate of heat loss is not worse than the rate of heat loss from a
notional building of the same size and shape designed to comply with the Elemental Method.
- Checks solar overheating
- Checks Carbon Index of heating plant
- Checks Carbon Performance Rating for Offices
- Checks compliance of lighting installation
The Whole-office Carbon Performance Rating allows greater flexibility for the designer in the areas and U-values of the
individual elements of the building envelope
